Glen Ellyn Man Pleads Guilty To Aggravated DUI In Plea Deal

Lawrence Sieber, 63, was charged with multiple felony counts for causing four separate crashes in one day in 2017.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — A Glen Ellyn man has pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI for a series of accidents in 2017 that damaged several vehicles and left another driver with a punctured lung and broken ribs. Lawrence Sieber, 63, was charged with five other felony charges in the incident, including aggravated fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated reckless driving, and resisting a police officer.

These other charges were dropped as part of Sieber's plea deal, Chicago Tribune reports.

Police say Sieber got into four crashes on the evening of Jan. 22, 2017. Three of them took place in Villa Park and the fourth crash happened in Lombard.

According to police, Sieber fled after hitting a car near Ardmore and Jackson in Villa Park. Police began pursuing Sieber and eventually caught up with him at a stoplight, where police say he rammed into another car in an attempt to flee.

Sieber then allegedly resisted officers as they tried to remove him from his vehicle.

Sieber is set to appear in court again on April 9 and then on May 1 to be sentenced.
