Glen Ellyn Man Who Caused 4 Hit-And-Run Crashes Gets 7 Years
Lawrence Sieber, 64, of Glen Ellyn, severely injured one of the drivers when he crashed into their car.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — A Glen Ellyn man who was accused of causing four consecutive hit-and-run crashes in Villa Park and Lombard has been sentenced to seven years in prison. Lawrence Sieber, 64, of the First block of Park Ave., pleaded guilty on March 5 to a felony count of aggravated DUI causing bodily harm in connection with the January 2017 incident.
Ardmore struck a car on January 22, 2017, after failing to yield to a stop sign at the intersection of Ardmore and Jackson in Villa Park, according to police. Sieber fled that crash, which severely injured the other driver.
After fleeing the scene, Sieber was involved in two additional collisions in Villa Park and one crash in Lombard.

Police pursued Sieber to a stop light, where he rear-ended a truck before getting out of his car and attempting to flee officers on foot. Officers took Sieber into custody and he later tested positive for DUI.
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement, "There is a reason why drinking and driving is against the law – to protect the motoring public from people like Mr. Sieber,” Berlin said. “Not only did Mr. Sieber think nothing of driving after he had been drinking, he thought nothing of the potential harm he could cause to others."
