Glen Ellyn Moves Forward With Parking, Streetscape Project

The parking garages may be built near the Civic Center and the Pennsylvania Street Fire Station.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn officials have announced they are moving forward with designers and consultants for proposed projects that would add parking options and overhaul the village's downtown streetscape. The announcement comes after the village held a workshop Tuesday to further explore these changes to the central business district.

After Tuesday's workshop, village officials decided to hire a consultant to create designs for parking facilities at two locations in the central business district. The proposed locations are at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center and near the village's main fire station and the Glen Art Theatre at Main Street and Pennsylvania.

As potential designs are underway, Glen Ellyn will also delve deeper into funding options for the parking garages.
