Glen Ellyn Native Cepuran Earns Silver Medal At Winter Olympic Games

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Speedskater and Glen Ellyn native Ethan Cepuran earned a silver medal Tuesday in the men's team pursuit race in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

This is Cepuran's second time competing in the Olympic Games and his second Olympic medal. He won a bronze medal in Beijing in the men's eight-lap team pursuit in 2022, according to his Team U.S.A. profile.

Team U.S.A. clocked a time of of 3:43.71. The time was 4.51 seconds behind Italy, who clocked a time of 3:39.20.

Cepuran first took to the ice rink at age 2, his profile states. His accolades include earning gold in team pursuit at the 2025 World Championships in the eight-lap team pursuit race, setting a new world record. Cepuran also competed in the World Championships in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
