Glen Ellyn Plans Public Hearing To Talk Cannabis Sales
Do you think Glen Ellyn should allow the sale of recreational cannabis?
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn residents will have a chance to sound off about recreational cannabis sales in the village at an upcoming public hearing. The hearing, set for Oct. 10 at 7 p.m., will also cover information village officials have gathered since the matter of recreational cannabis first came up for discussion in mid-August.
The hearing comes two days after neighboring Wheaton opted out of cannabis sales.
On Sept. 9, the village declared a resolution to further examine and research the issue of recreational cannabis businesses within village limits. As of Jan. 1, 2020, recreational cannabis will be legal for adults 21 and over to consume throughout Illinois.
