Glen Ellyn Ranks Among Best Places To Raise A Family In Illinois

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn was recently named one of the top 20 places to raise a family in Illinois. The study, which was released by WalletHub, weighed such features as socioeconomics, education, family life, and fun.

Glen Ellyn took the #19 spot on the 2018 list out of more than 200 cities, towns, and villages. Of these Glen Ellyn ranked #11 for affordability and #43 for education, health, and safety.

The study of 2018's Best Places to Raise a Family in Illinois used 21 metrics to rank each locale in four different categories:

• Affordability
• Socioeconomics
• Education, health, and safety
• Family life and fun

Among these metrics were weighted categories that included, weather, playgrounds per capita, and attractions per capita. Other factors included violent crimes, unemployment rate, and divorce rate.
