Glen Ellyn Woman Selected to Fill Open DuPage Co. Board Seat
Karyn Romano has been appointed to serve on the board.

The DuPage County Board unanimously approved Chairman Dan Cronin’s appointment of Karyn Romano of Glen Ellyn to serve on the Board, filling the vacant District 4 seat left following the death of JR McBride.
Chairman Dan Cronin said Romano brings a wide range of experience and skills to the position.

“Karyn is very knowledgeable about many of the issues that face our County Board as we begin our new fiscal year. She’ll hit the ground running, bringing her experience in the areas of public transit, public safety and stormwater. We are lucky to have someone of her caliber working for the citizens of DuPage.”
Romano has owned and run her Glen Ellyn public affairs consulting firm, Metro Strategies, since 2004. She graduated from Elmhurst College in 1988 and has worked for the West Central Municipal Conference, the North Central Council of Mayors and the Illinois Comptroller’s office. She also served as the transportation director for the Metropolitan Planning Council until 2004 when she left to start her company.

Romano will complete McBride’s term, which ends November 30, 2016. DuPage’s District 4 includes all or parts of Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Lisle, Glendale Heights, Winfield and Lombard.
