Glen Ellyn Residents Invited To Downtown Design Workshop

The village is working on the first major redesign of the downtown area since the 1980s.

GLEN ELLYN, IL -- Residents and business owners are invited to join village officials at a meeting to workshop the design of downtown Glen Ellyn. The downtown revamp will be the first major redesign the downtown area has undergone since the 1980s, officials said in a news release.

Interactive stations will be set up to allow participants to get a hands-on feel for some components of the design concepts. Those who attend are encouraged to offer their input on ongoing design priorities to improve the aesthetic of the streetscape downtown and to include sidewalks, lighting, ADA accessibility, underground utilities and more.

Some design ideas that will be up for discussion include bike racks, decorative sidewalk features, benches, and trees.
