Glen Ellyn Star Student Changing World 'For The Better'
This star student is an intern at the Glen Ellyn Historical Society and works at the Morton Arboretum.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Kirk Burger, Assistant Director Glen Ellyn Historical Society, who nominated Alison College Senior of Glen Ellyn.

How do you know the star local student?
She is my museum intern
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Most college students wait until after their graduation until they try and make a positive impact in the world. Alison, however, isn't waiting to change the world for the better. While still a student she is striving, right now, to serve her community. In her spare time, she works for the Morton Arboretum and interns with the Glen Ellyn Historical Society. She is currently working to digitize and catalog all the historical maps of our area. If that wasn't enough, she is creating an interactive model to teach how the Village of Glen Ellyn has developed over the last 200 years. This is no small task and not one to be taken on lightly, yet she has dedicated herself to this and all her other responsibilities with a smile and "can do" attitude.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
She is caring, dedicated, committed and smart.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Alison!
