Glen Ellyn Voter Guide: 2022 Primary Election

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Election Day is almost here. Early voting in the June 28 General Primary Election started Monday in Glen Ellyn.

Through June 25, residents can vote early at 13 temporary early voting sites throughout DuPage County. Voting hours at these sites are 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

An additional nine permanent early voting sites will be open through June 27. These sites are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Illinois's 6th Congressional District

Incumbent Rep. Sean Casten (IL-D) is vying to keep is seat representing Illinois's 6th Congressional District. Casten is being challenged by Rep. Marie Newman (IL-D), who currently represents Illinois's 3rd Congressional District. Charles Hughes is also facing off against Casten in the June 28 primary.

The following Republicans are hoping to snag the 6th District seat:

  • Gary Grasso
  • Scott Kaspar
  • Catherine A. O'Shea
  • Keith Pekau

Park District Referendum

Voters in Glen Ellyn will also see the following question on the June 28 ballot:

"Shall the Glen Ellyn Park District, DuPage County, Illinois, improve, equip and maintain Sunset Pool, expand, improve, equip and maintain Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, improve, equip and maintain other parks and park facilities, acquire land for park purposes, and issue its bonds to the amount of $15,900,000 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?"

The Glen Ellyn Park District's bond referendum comes amid ongoing efforts by the park district to repair and maintain Lake Foxcroft Park, Babcock Grove Park and other properties.
