Glenbard East Teacher Honored As Outstanding Early Career Educator
Gariecia Rose, who teaches social studies at Glenbard East High School earned the statewide nod from the Illinois State Board of Education.

LOMBARD, IL — A teacher from Glenbard East High School was recently honored as the state's 2023 Outstanding Early Career Educator by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
Gariecia Rose, who teaches social studies at Glenbard East, was among 490 Illinois teachers recognized for their "extraordinary contributions," according to the ISBE website.
“There are not enough words to describe just how humbled and honored I am to be chosen as the Outstanding Early Career Educator of the year for Illinois," Rose said in a news release.

She added, "My students are my guiding light for all that I do, and I hope to continue honoring their lived experiences, their aspirations and their faith in me as their teacher for the rest of my journey as an educator."
ISBE's Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year program was founded in 1970 and honors teachers in the following categories:
