Glenbard to host two programs focused on The Self-Driven Child
William Stixrud and Ned Johnson will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Glenbard West
The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families will present The Self-Driven Child: The Science and Sense of Giving Your Kids More Control Over Their Lives on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
This powerful program with William Stixrud and Ned Johnson will begin at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.
From different vantage points, Stixrud and Johnson saw children struggling with a lack of enthusiasm and toxic stress. Stixrud is a clinical neuropsychologist who helps young people gripped by anxiety or struggling to learn. Johnson is an educational coach, founder of an elite tutoring company and author of "Conquering the SAT -- How Parents Can Help Teens Overcome the Pressure and Succeed". In this presentation drawn from their case studies, this pair distills the latest research and shares tools parents may use to enhance a child's drive and healthy decision-making. Join us and learn about today's common stressors and how to move children of all ages from powerlessness to purpose, ready to take on new challenges on the real road to success.

Stixrud and Johnson, co-authors of “The Self-Driven Child,” offer parents/guardians common sense steps to help students improve their academic performance, enhance career success and improve emotional well-being.
This program will be repeated at noon Nov. 14 at the Marquardt School District 15 Administration Center, 1860 Glen Ellyn Road in Glendale Heights.
