Glenbard Parent Series event will explore resilience strategies

Peter Hall to present on December 5, 7pm at Glenbard East High School

The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families will present Building Your Capacity for Success: Self-Care to Foster Resilience in Your Child and Yourself with Peter Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St. in Lombard.

We all know the importance of taking care of ourselves, yet many of us struggle to do so.
Hall, former school principal and co-author of "Fostering Resilient Learners,” will share strategies to head off frustration and burnout with essential self-care techniques that will help parents, guardians and students flourish.

Participants will learn how stress affects the brain; how to get the brain "learning-ready" –supporting learning in and out of school, as well as effective communication strategies. Continuing professional development units are available.

GPS is generously sponsored by the Cebrin Goodman Center, Cooperative Association for Special Education (CASE), College of DuPage, DuPage Medical Group, Emmy Gaffey Foundation, Glenbard Early Childhood Collaborative, Holiday Inn/Carol Stream, Prevention Leadership Team of the DuPage County Health Department and Birth to 5 Community Coalition District 93.
