Graffiti Spree In Glen Ellyn Damages Dugout, Park District Building

Glen Ellyn police responded to a rash of graffiti incidents between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Four different properties were defaced with graffiti in Glen Ellyn in less than a week. The suspect(s) used white spray paint to deface both public and private property between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22, police say. It is unclear whether the incidents are related.

The first incidence of graffiti took place at Village Green Park between 6 p.m. on Oct. 16 and 9:17 a.m. on Oct. 17. The suspect(s) defaced a park dugout with white spray paint. In the same park, white spray paint was also used to deface a park district building on Oct. 18 sometime between 6:39 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

Residents also reported graffiti in the 200 blocks of Lorraine and Taylor between 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 6 a.m. on Oct. 22. In both instances, the offender(s) sprayed white paint onto yard signs. Surveillance video from the home on Lorraine St. shows the property damage being caused by a white male with a heavy build wearing a t-shirt and basketball shorts.
