Gun Violence Prevention Forum Planned By League Of Women Voters

"Preventing Gun Violence Through A Community of Care" will be held Sept. 22 at Hadley Junior High School in Glen Ellyn.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Superintendents from local schools will join social worker Andres Acosta on Sept. 22 for "Preventing Gun Violence Through A Community of Care," a forum hosted by local League of Women Voters branches at Hadley Junior High School.

Acosta will be the keynote speaker at the event, which will include a panel discussion with:

  • Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski, superintendent of Glen Ellyn School District 41
  • Dr. David Larson, superintendent of Glenbard School District 87
  • Dr. Emily Tammaru, superintendent of Community Consolidated School District 89
  • Dr. Kevin Russell, superintendent of Downers Grove Grade School District 58
  • Dr. Henry Thiele, superintendent of Community High School District 99

The forum begins at 7 p.m. in the Hadley library. It is presented by the League of Women Voters groups in Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Lisle and Woodridge.
