Help Plant Monarch-Friendly Butterfly Gardens

Assist in planting milkweed and other butterfly-friendly plants on Saturday, June 20.

Join the Glen Ellyn Park District and the Village of Glen Ellyn in the community effort to help save the Monarch butterfly by participating in our free milkweed & butterfly garden planting day on Saturday, June 20th from 9-11am. Volunteers will receive free milkweed plants to take home and start their own garden!

Choose to help plant at either Maryknoll Park or in the municipal parking lot at Glenwood Avenue and Crescent Boulevard. Participants can register to volunteer at a planting location at http://gepark.org/monarch.html.

This summer, the Glen Ellyn Park District has partnered with the Village of Glen Ellyn, Glen Ellyn Environmental Commission, Glen Ellyn Public Library, Willowbrook Wildlife Center and Ben Franklin School to develop and promote a concentrated effort in Glen Ellyn to save the monarch butterfly from extinction by planting milkweed waystations throughout the community.
