Jim Kostecki Named Associate Vice President of Planning at COD
Jim Kostecki brings valuable expertise to his new role as Associate Vice President of Planning, Performance and Analytics at the College.

With a rich background in institutional research and analytics, Jim Kostecki brings valuable expertise to his new role as Associate Vice President of Planning, Performance and Analytics at College of DuPage.
For seven years, Kostecki served as the College’s Director of Research and Analytics. During his tenure, he led compliance reporting to federal and state agencies, managed institutional research requests and played a pivotal role in establishing the College’s research and planning team site which serves as a central hub for the redesigned enrollment and student success reporting. Additionally, Kostecki spearheaded the development of a data warehouse and analytical dashboards, enhancing data reliability and accessibility.
In his expanded role, Kostecki will help lead efforts to integrate the research and IT departments to streamline processes, improve data governance and enhance overall institutional effectiveness.

COD Vice President for Planning, Performance and Technology Keith Tyrka said that Jim’s leadership and vision have already significantly advanced COD’s research capabilities.
“Jim’s commitment to data-driven decision making and his innovative approach to analytics have been invaluable,” he said. “In his new role, I am confident that Jim will continue to drive positive change, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence that will benefit the entire College community."

Kostecki holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in Statistics from DePaul University. He also completed graduate coursework in Advanced Quantitative Methodology in Education at Northern Illinois.
Before joining COD, Kostecki was the Associate Director of Research and Analysis at the American Academy of Dermatology for more than 10 years. There, he established the first in-house survey research and analytical services function. Prior to that, he was the Manager of Research and Assessment at Oakton Community College, where he designed, planned and managed institutional research and assessment projects.
Kostecki’s passion lies in supporting students and contributing to the College community.
“The people who work at COD and the students we serve are the reasons I love what I do,” he said. “When I left the business world, I never looked back. Working at a community college attracts people who want to help students and are here for their betterment.”
