Kanter Named New Principal Of Churchill School

Amanda Kanter will start her role as principal of Churchill Elementary School on July 1.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Churchill Elementary School will have a new principal starting July 1. Amanda Kanter was approved as the school's next principal during a board of education meeting on April 3.

Kanter earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education and her masters degree in organizational leadership at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She began her career in education as an elementary school teacher and also worked as a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports coach and a reading interventionist.

Most recently Kanter has served as the assistant principal at Winston Churchill Elementary School in Schaumburg.

“I am greatly looking forward to joining the Churchill community as school principal. It is clear that District 41 is home to many compassionate and caring individuals who inspire excellence for our students,” Kanter said in a statement. “As school principal, I commit to fostering a high level of collaboration and trust so that, together, we can ensure our students reach their utmost potential.”

District 41 Superintendent Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski said Kanter was chosen from a large field of candidates, according to a news release.

She added, " Amanda impressed the various interview groups and emerged as the candidate of choice for the position. We look forward to bringing on a new administrative team member and leader in our district."
