Learn About History, Pop Culture, Science and Other Topics This Fall at Free Virtual College of DuPage Lectures and Courses

The Continuing Education Lifelong Learning program at College of DuPage will host the Virtual Lunch Break Lectures and Sage Series courses this fall covering a variety of subjects.
Lunch Break Lectures feature experts from the College’s Continuing Education program discussing a wide range of topics. Lectures are from noon to 1 p.m. on select Wednesdays, Sept. 16 through Nov. 25, via Zoom. Registration is required.

- A Journey Through America's National Park System, Sept. 16
- The Astonishing Life of Carl Akeley, the Father of Modern Taxidermy, Sept. 30
- The Seventies: A Nation in Search of Itself, Oct. 14
- Caffeine in Early Modern Europe, Oct. 28
- The Last Voyage of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Nov. 11
- The Mystery of the Princes in the Tower, Nov. 25
- “The Twilight Zone: Six Degrees of Separation,” 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25. Using video from the 1959-64 series, this lecture explores the iconic show’s connections with other shows, movies and media.
- “Our Amazing Universe,” 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14. This class brings participants on a journey to the farthest reaches of space and time in a vast universe, exploring a variety of topics, including active galaxies, astronomical research, the Big Bang and quasars.
The free Sage Series features local experts presenting engaging enrichment courses regarding a variety of topics. Registration is required.
