Lombard Man Killed When Tire Crashes Through Vehicle Windshield

A 55-year-old Lombard man was killed early this morning when a tire flew off a vehicle and crashed through the windshield of another vehicle on Interstate 39/90 in Madison, according to media reports.

The tire flew off an eastbound (southbound) vehicle and struck a vehicle traveling in the westbound lane at about 1:20 a.m. Monday, according to Madison.com.

The driver of the vehicle struck by the tire lost control of his vehicle and slid into a concrete barrier, Madison.com reports. The Lombard man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured.
