Lombard Roller Rink Closes After 30 Years
A long-time fixture in Lombard, the beloved roller rink hosted its last skate on Aug. 19.

LOMBARD, IL — After three decades of zooming neon wheels, spinning disco lights, dance-worthy tunes and countless birthday parties, Lombard Roller Rink has closed for good. The rink, located at 201 W. 22nd St., hosted its last skate Aug. 19.
When Lombard Roller Rink announced plans for its final skate night on Facebook, fans responded more than 100 comments sharing an outpouring of love and nostalgia.
Facebook user Tricia M. wrote, "Breaks my heart! That was my second home! I never missed a Friday night or Saturday night going there!"

"I live 1.5 hours away but I always skated there when I was a little girl!! I will definitely try and make it in before the last day!" Alyson H. commented.
Lombard Roller Rink's owners announced the rink's eventual closure in January 2023, citing plans to sell the property and close the rink in May.

The owners sold the rink's fixtures and memorabilia in late August. Lombard Roller Rink did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment Tuesday.
