Marcel's Owner to Bring Gourmet Cheese Shop to Glen Ellyn

Renovations are underway on the century-old building that will house Marché when it opens this fall.

The owner of Marcel’s Culinary Experience in Glen Ellyn plans to open a cheese shop this fall at the corner Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, the Daily Herald reports.

Jill Foucré said the idea for the cheese shop, Marché, after customers kept coming back to her shop’s popular refrigerated section that included a variety of packaged cheese, according to the article. Marcel’s also offers a variety of popular cooking classes throughout the year.

At her new shop, which is located only a couple doors down from Marcel’s, she plans to offer 100 varieties of different cheeses, including big wheels of cheese, the newspaper reports.

Renovations are underway on the century-old building that will house Marché. The new shop will have three refrigerated cases that customers can walk through, a wall dedicated to wine and outdoor seating where customers can try a cheese platter with a glass of wine, according to the Daily Herald.
