Marty Scott New Community Development Director In Glen Ellyn
Marty Scott, who has worked as a development director in Western Springs, was sworn in Aug. 22.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Marty Scott has been named the new Community Development Director for the village of Glen Ellyn.
Scott's appointment comes after an "extensive recruitment process," village officials said in a news release. He was sworn in Aug. 22.
Scott currently works for Western Springs as its Director of Community Development. He has spent the past three decades working in zoning and planning, administration and economical development.

In his new role, Scott will help review development projects, issue building permits, perform safety inspections and coordinate long-term planning and policies.
Scott earned a bachelor's degree in community and regional planning at Iowa State University. He furthered his education with a certification via the American Institute of Certified Planners and the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.

“Marty’s problem-solving abilities, leadership and passion for public service make him an ideal fit for this role,” Glen Ellyn Village Manager Mark Franz said in a statement.
Franz added, “His experience and expertise will help us shape the future of Glen Ellyn."
