MAY 14: FREE Shredding, Electronics Recycling, Food Pantry Drop Off

Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard invites community shedding, recyclables (electronics too) & food pantry donations - Saturday, 9 to noon

This Saturday morning, May 14, 2022, from 9 a.m. to noon, Trinity Lutheran Church and School invites the community to a FREE: Community Shredding, Electronics Recycling, Food Pantry Drop-Off event in the front parking lot at 1165 S Westmore-Meyers Rd, Lombard (on the northeast corner at Roosevelt Rd).

All are welcome to bring papers to be shredded and disposed of, hand off electronics (and other recyclable items) for recycling, while helping provide food for local families and individuals.

Donations of non-perishable food and paper goods will be distributed through local food pantries to individuals and families in need via the St. Vincent DePaul food pantry at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard, the York Township Food Pantry, and First Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Chicago.

Recyclable materials accepted include electronics, glass jars, aluminum cans, plastic bottles and containers, paper, cardboard, and scrap metal.

The following electronics are among those accepted at no charge: monitors, printers, desktops, laptops, servers, UPS batteries, networking equipment, routers, switches, and WIFI access points. However, the State of Illinois requires charges for: microwaves ($15), TVs - flat screened or tube ($37), old CRT tubed monitors ($37), large upright copy machines ($75).

If a certificate of destruction is required, that can be provided within seven days.
