More Than 2,500 Pounds Of Holiday Lights To Be Recycled In Glen Ellyn

This year, the Glen Ellyn Park District collected more than 2,500 pounds of holiday lights that will be recycled to make new products.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Park District's holiday lights recycling drive yielded 2,542 pounds of lights and extension cords for recycling this year.

The collected holiday lights and cords will be recycled by Capital Metal. The copper, plastic and other materials will be used to make new products.

With this year's recycling donation, the Glen Ellyn Park District has recycled more than 21,000 pounds of holiday lights since the program's inception.
