More Than $40K Donated To Support Downtown Park, Scholarships In Glen Ellyn

The donations were made by Glen Ellyn Bank and Trust and the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Park District recently received more than $40,000 in donations that will be used to help fun the Downtown Park project and scholarships that help give park district access to residents in need.

The $20,000 donation from Glen Ellyn Bank and Trust will be used in the first phase of development for the Downtown Park that will transform the former U.S. Bank site at 453 Forest Ave. into a community event park.

“We are deeply grateful for Glen Ellyn Bank & Trust’s partnership,” Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation President Jonathan Huard said in a statement. “Their investment brings us closer to creating a space where residents of all ages can gather, play, and connect.”

A donation of $20,694 was made by the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation. Those funds will be used to make park district events and programs more accessible for residents who are in need of financial assistance.

Park District Board President Julia Nephew said, “Access to parks and recreation strengthens our entire community. We are thankful for the Foundation’s continued leadership and commitment to making our programs accessible to all.”
