New Principal Chosen To Lead Hadley Junior High

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn School District 41 has named Dr. Rebecca Gabrenya as the new principal of Hadley Junior High School.

Gabrenya comes to District 41 from Kenyon Woods Middle School in Elgin, where she currently serves as principal. She began her career as a middle school science teacher and was formerly the principal Marquardt Middle School in Marquardt School District 15 in Glendale Heights.

An alum of Eastern Illinois University, Gabrenya holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a middle school endorsement. Her master's degrees were earned at Benedictine University, in educational leadership and administration and reading and literacy. Gabrenya earned her doctorate degree in leadership in educational administration and superintendency at Aurora University.

“Dr. Gabrenya is a thoughtful, student-centered leader with a strong background in middle school education," District 41 Superintdent Dr. Jeff McHugh shared in a statement. "Her experience, collaborative approach, and pursuit of greatness will be great assets to the Hadley community. We are excited to welcome her to District 41."

In a statement, Gabrenya said she is "truly honored to join Glen Ellyn School District 41 and the Hadley Junior High School community."

Gabrenya will begin her role as principal of Hadley Junior High School on July 1.
