Outgoing District 41 Superintendent Accepts Job In Washington

Dr. Paul Gordon, whose term ends in June, said he is thankful for "the kids who kept me going on a daily basis."

GLEN ELLYN, IL -- Outgoing District 41 Superintendent Dr. Paul Gordon announced Wednesday that he has accepted a superintendent position in Washington. Gordon, whose contract ends in June, addressed a post to the District 41 community to tell them he was appointed as superintendent of Wenatchee School District and to express his thanks to the District 41 students and staff.

"I am writing to thank you for the incredible outpouring of support and kindness demonstrated to my family and I over the past few months and for my entire tenure as superintendent of this great school district!" Gordon said.

He added that his last day would be June 30 and that he looks "forward to finishing out this school year strong" as part of District 41.

Gordon said Wenatchee School District has 7,600 student throughout its seven elementary schools, three middle schools, 2 high schools, technical center, and K-10 alternative parent partnership school.

Gordon closed his letter by saying that he will "miss the District 41 community and the amazing relationships made over the years."

He wrote, "I know that I will forever be connected here and I am thankful for the experience, memories and especially for the kids who kept me going on a daily basis."

District 41 began its first round of interviews on March 7 for a superintendent to replace Gordon.
