The free event has a limited number of seats, so be sure to register.

GLEN ELLYN, IL --- During the holiday season, police often see a surge in phone scams, phishing emails, and other crimes. Glen Ellkyn police will hold a special seminar on Jan. 22 to help residents learn more about different types of scams and how to stay protected against them.
Glen Ellyn's detectives will present the free seminar and cover such crimes as IRS phone scams, utility company impostor scams, and "spoofing" calls in which scammers pose as family members in distress. The police will share tips on what to do if you become the victim of such phone scams.
There will also be time for a question and answer session after the presentation. Seats for this free event are limited, though, so residents should register in advance.
