Police Identify West Chicago Man Found Dead on Side of Road
A homicide investigation is underway following the death of the documented gang member near West Chicago.
The 27-year-old man found dead on the side of the road near West Chicago has been identified.
Enrique Hernandez, Jr., of West Chicago, was a documented gang member and police believe he was murdered. His body was found near the intersection of Highlake Avenue and DuPage Avenue around 11 p.m. on Friday, according to a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Hernandez was taken to Central DuPage Hospital where he was pronounced dead. It is believed that the homicide was an isolated incident and the victim was targeted.

The sheriff’s office is attempting to locate the victim’s gray 2007 Chevrolet four-door Aveo, which has an Illinois registration R614016. The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is requesting that anyone with information call 630-407-2400.
