'Porch Pirates,' Counterfeit Cash, Car Burglaries In Glen Ellyn

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The following items are from the Glen Ellyn police blotter through Nov. 26.

Vehicle Burglary

Nov. 21-22: A resident reported a vehicle burglary in the 500 block of Crescent. The incident happened sometime between 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 10:32 a.m. on Nov. 22. Police say the suspect(s) removed boxing gloves, an emergency roadside kit, and some loose change.

Theft Under $500

Nov. 22: Suspect(s) took an Amazon package from the porch of a home in the 1100 block of Surrey. The theft was reported at approximately 11 p.m.

Forgery

Nov. 22: Someone passed a counterfeit bill at the Batteries Plus Bulbs store at 481 Roosevelt Rd. Police say the victim reported that they found a counterfeit $10 bill in the cash from the previous shift's deposit. The suspect was described as a black male in his mid-20s with a neatly trimmed beard. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket with a fur-trimmed collar, blue jeans, and a light-color knit hat.
