Purse Stolen During Car Burglary In Glen Ellyn

GLEN ELLYN, IL -- A thief smashed a car window and stole a purse at Spring Avenue Recreation Center in Glen Ellyn, according to police. Police say the burglary took place on Sept. 20 sometime in the late afternoon or early evening.

The victim told police that they left their car unattended at 4:40 p.m. and returned around 7:10 p.m. to find the rear driver's side window of the car had been shattered. The victim told police that a teal Anne Klein purse had been stolen from inside the car.

The burglary comes not long after a string of burglaries took place at parks in Wheaton and other surrounding suburbs.
