Residents Invited To Weigh In On Sunset Pool Improvements

An open house will be held Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. to discuss proposed improvements to Sunset Pool.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn residents are encouraged to attend an open house Dec. 15 to discuss proposed improvements to Sunset Pool.

It has been nearly two decades since the last time significant improvements were made to the pool, which was built during the 1950s, according to park district officials. The open house comes after a $15.9 million bond referendum question passed in June 2022.

The following improvements will be discussed at the open house:

  • Replacing old water slides
  • Installing a new splash pad
  • Installing a family restroom and family changing areas
  • Building a new splash play feature
  • Renovating the entrance to improve pool access
  • Improving outdoor seating areas and shade structures
  • Improving food service options

Staff members from the Glen Ellyn Park District will be in attendance at the open house Thursday to get feedback, field questions and take suggestions. Comment cards will also be available for those who prefer to share written comments.
