Robert Friedberg of Glen Ellyn Is New Chief Operating Officer at Delnor
Thomas L. Wright stays on as CEO of Delnor. Friedberg reports to Wright.

Glen Ellyn Village Trustee Robert Friedberg has been appointed chief operating officer of in Geneva, according to a press release issued by CDH-Delnor Health System.
Friedberg holds the additional role of executive vice president of system operations and integrated services for the CDH-Delnor Health System. Friedberg previously held the title of vice president of operations for Central DuPage Hospital since May 2004.
“Robert has been highly involved in nearly every aspect of CDH’s performance. This experience has demonstrated he is an exceptional leader and that he will undoubtedly be an essential contributor to Delnor’s operations,” said President and CEO of the CDH-Delnor Health System Luke McGuinness. “In his new role at Delnor, Robert will focus on enhancing quality, implementing new services and programs, and streamlining all aspects of inpatient and outpatient operations.”

Friedberg has been a key member of the CDH executive team since 2004 and has been instrumental in the year-over-year strategic and operational results of the hospital. He has also been accountable for line operations of clinical and non-clinical areas at CDH, and the development and successful implementation of the neurosciences and orthopaedic destination service lines at CDH.
Since the merger with Delnor Hospital, Friedberg has led the integration of operations between the two facilities.

Before joining CDH, Friedberg served as senior administrator at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. In addition to managing a diverse array of departments within the Medical Center, his focus included operational and financial improvements across the enterprise.
Prior to his tenure at Rush, Friedberg served as the Chief Operating Officer for MacNeal Health Network in Berwyn, Ill.
Friedberg earned his Bachelor’s degree in health systems management from the University of Rochester, and a Master’s degree in healthcare administration from Cornell University.
Active in his community, Friedberg is a Trustee for the Village of Glen Ellyn. He and his wife, Marissa Grittini, have two children, Emma and Josh.
Although the initial press release makes no mention of Thomas L. Wright, a spokesperson says Wright is staying on as Delnor CEO and Friedberg will report to Wright.
