“I have enjoyed working together with my fellow trustees to build upon the strengths of COD and address its future needs,” she said in the letter. “I will miss the collaboration and energetic debate that marks the COD Board as one that is caring and committed to all of its stakeholders.”
Hamilton has been on the COD for the past three years and has been the COD board president over the past eight months. She became the board chair after three candidates she supported, Frank Napolitano, Deanne Mazzochi and Charles Bernstein, won an April election, according to the Daily Herald.

One of the first actions of the new board was to put former embattled college president Robert Breuder on leave in April. The board voted to fire Breuder in October.
Prior to that, the College of Dupage and Breuder had been under fire for months regarding its finances and administrative practices and Breuder has been the subject of public scrutiny regarding a $762,867 severance package the former board of trustees approved for him, according to the Daily Herald.
