Sen. Nybo named to Senate Committees, appointed to Spokesperson position

State Sen. Chris Nybo has been named to five Senate committees and asked to serve as Spokesperson for another for the 99th General Assembly.

State Sen. Chris Nybo (R-Elmhurst) has been named to six Illinois Senate committees by Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) for the 99th General Assembly.

Sen. Nybo has been asked to serve as Republican Spokesperson for the Financial Institutions Committee, which deals with issues related to the economy, the banking system, and lending issues.

“A leadership position on the Financial Institutions Committee will allow me a stronger voice in making sure we have the right monetary policies to get our State’s economy back on track,” Sen. Nybo said. “I appreciate Leader Radogno’s confidence with respect to this important role.”

Sen. Nybo will also serve as a member of the Criminal Law, Energy and Public Utilities, Judiciary, Revenue and Transportation committees.

“Improving our Illinois business climate is one of my top priorities, and taxes, transportation, energy, and access to capital are very important tools in this effort,” Nybo said. “These committee assignments provide a great platform to work with Governor Bruce Rauner to get our economy back on track.”

The 24th Senate District includes all or parts of the communities of Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Lisle, Lombard, Oak Brook, Oak Brook Terrace, Westmont, Wheaton, Western Springs and Willowbrook in DuPage and Cook counties. Sen. Nybo previously served two years in the House of Representatives.
