State Sen. Chris Nybo welcomed Gov. Bruce Rauner to the 24th District Feb. 8 by taking him to breakfast at Egg Harbor in Elmhurst.

ELMHURST – State Sen. Chris Nybo (R-Elmhurst) welcomed Gov. Bruce Rauner to the 24th District Feb. 8 by taking him to breakfast at Egg Harbor in Elmhurst.

“Governor Rauner and I had a great time visiting with diners at Egg Harbor in Elmhurst before heading to his speech in Lombard,” Nybo said. “The place was packed and he and Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti took time to talk with people and get their pictures taken.”

Liz Cook, a volunteer with Honor Flight, presented the Governor with an Honor Flight jacket. Nybo’s grandfather, who is a WWII veteran, participated in the Honor Flight last summer.

Later in the day, the Governor spoke to a capacity crowd at the Westin at Yorktown Center in Lombard. Nybo said the near-capacity crowd included residents from Lombard and surrounding communities, local elected officials, State Rep. Peter Breen (R-Lombard) and U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton).

Gov. Rauner presented his first State of the State Address in Springfield on Feb. 4. He has been traveling to communities across the state to present his plan for reform in further detail to Illinois residents.
