Snow Removal In Glen Ellyn: What You Need To Know

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Snow season is here and with it come the arrival of snow plows and salt trucks. The village of Glen Ellyn has specific rules and safety reminders for residents when there's an accumulation of two inches or more of snowfall.

When snowfall exceeds two inches, overnight parking on village streets will be prohibited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. to allow for snow cleanup.

Residents are also reminded that it is against village policy to move snow from your driveway into the street. This can be hazardous for other drivers and "residents doing this may be liable for any accident caused as a result of these actions," Glen Ellyn Public Works warns.

If you live in Glen Ellyn, the village also suggests making sure that your mailbox is up to village code standards during snow season. This will help keep your mailbox safe from damage due to snowfall.
