Solid Waste Rates To Increase In Glen Ellyn
The increased rates will go into effect on Aug. 1.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Residents in Glen Ellyn will soon notice a slight increase in their weekly solid waste collection rates. The annual base rates increase by three percent, which raises monthly costs from around $.68 to $1.12, depending on your specific services, village officials said in a news update.
The increased pricing was voted on during a Special Village Board meeting on June 8 and is tied to the village's waste collection contract with Groot Industries. Thew price increase also impacts ancillary rates that include stickers for leaf collection and yard waste. The new rates for these will be as follows:
- Solid waste sticker: $2.66
- Yard waste sticker: $2.66
- Leaf sticker: $1.60
- Cart exchange: $19.10
Residents will see the new solid waste collection rates go into effect as of Aug. 1.
