Streetscape Project Moves Forward With Work On Duane, Hillside
The remainder of this first phase of Glen Ellyn's streetscape project is set to be done by the middle of November.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Progress is moving along on the downtown Glen Ellyn streetscape project as crews wrap up work on part of Main Street. Construction is set to continue on Hillside Avenue and Duane Street into October and November.

Over the spring and summer months, Main Street was revamped to the south of the railroad tracks with new trees, sidewalk furniture, accessibility features and improved underground utilities. Workers will plant autumnal perennials in the coming months to further spruce up Main Street.

Winter will bring a pause in work on the streetscape project, but crews will kick off construction on phase two in 2023.
Glen Ellyn began its streetscape project in March 2022 after years of planning and development. The initial street repair will be helmed by A Lamp Concrete Contractors of Schaumburg, with Bollinger Loch and Associates of Itasca serving as construction engineers.
