A Tavola By Mancini Now Open In Downtown Glen Ellyn

GLEN ELLYN, IL — A Tavola by Mancini opened Feb. 10 in downtown Glen Ellyn, bringing beloved Italian family recipes to Main Street.

The restaurant draws inspiration from owner Gina Mancini's experience growing up as the child of Italian immigrants. On A Tavola's website, Mancini writes that her mother cooked dishes created by her grandmother and "filled our house with love, warmth, aromas of Italy, and the comfort of a homemade meal every single evening."

Mancini's mother used to say, "Bimbi, venite a tavola!" once each meal was ready, inviting her children to "come to the table."

These recipes were enhanced by Chef Enzo Cullotta to create the menu at A Tavola by Mancini. Featured entrees include orecchiette con salsiccia e rapini, a rigatoni dish with butternut squash and sautéed guanciales. Diners can also order the chef's tortellini di Enzo, which comes topped with goat cheese, toasted peanuts, shallots, cherry tomatoes, spinach and white wine sauce.

A Tavola features an extensive list of imported wines available by the glass or bottle.

Located at 504 Crescent Blvd., La Tavola by Mancini is open Tuesday through Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
