Teen Art Scene Contest At Glen Ellyn Public Library

Teens can submit their artwork for a chance to be featured on the walls of the library and win a gift card to Blick.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Teens who have an artistic side will have a chance to put their skills on display as part of the Teen Art Scene Contest at Glen Ellyn Public Library. The contest kicked off January 1 and submissions will be accepted through February 11.

Students ages 14-18 can enter their artwork in the Teen Art Scene Contest if they attend Glenbard West, Glenbard South, or are homeschooled. The library adds that valid ID may be required for eligibility.

Students can enter one piece of visual artwork done in any medium. Judges will pick nine winners and the library will feature 11x17 photos of each piece of art in its high school room.

All the original art submissions will be on display in a public reception on Feb. 25 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The reception will also feature a slideshow that spotlights each artist's work.

The nine winners of the Teen Art Scene Contest will be announced on March 18. In addition to getting their work featured in the library, the winners in eachs will get a gift card to Blick Art Materials, with 1st place receiving a $50 gift card and 2nd and 3rd place getting a $20 gift card.
