Teen Burglars Caught With Stun Gun In Glen Ellyn: Cops

Police say an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old were caught fleeing the scene of the crime.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Two teens, one armed with a stun gun, were arrested while attempting to burglarize a car in Glen Ellyn early Friday. Police say Jaris McCullum, 18, of Lombard, and a 15-year-old male set of a car alarm while trying to get into a vehicle in the 1100 block of Londonberry Dr.

According to police, witnesses saw McCullum and the juvenile running from the car after the alarm went off. Police caught up to the suspects in the area and allegedly found a stun gun on McCullum.

McCullum has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon and five counts of burglary to a motor vehicle. The juvenile was charged with five counts of burglary to a motor vehicle and with violating curfew.

In a media release, police say they urge residents to keep their vehicles locked and to keep cars and valuables out of sight.
