TGI Fridays Hit By Slip-And-Fall Suit Over Foreign Substance on Floor

A woman who claims she injured herself when she fell on a slippery floor is suing a chain restaurant.

Jervon White filed a lawsuit Nov. 10 in DuPage County Circuit Court against TGI Fridays, Tri Artisan and Sentinel Capital Partners, doing business as TGI Fridays at 601 E. Butterfield Road in Lombard.

According to the lawsuit, White says she was dining at the restaurant on Nov. 10, 2012 when she slipped on a liquid substance that had accumulated on the floor. The slip caused her to fall with “great force and violence.”

The plaintiff contends that the restaurant was negligent because it failed to monitor the floor for possible slipping hazards. As a result of the fall, White claims she suffered injuries to her head, body and limbs, including bruises and cuts.

She is asking for damages in excess of $50,000 to cover medical expenses.

The case is being represented by Chicago attorney Nancy L. Hirsch.
