Pedestrian Fatally Hit By Train In Unincorporated Glen Ellyn
The Finley Road crossing will be closed while the train is standing.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — A person has died after they were fatally struck by a freight train near the border in unincorporated Glen Ellyn Monday morning The crash took place around 10:45 a.m. near Ellynwood Drive and Cumnor Avenue, not far from the Lombard border, according to DuPage County Sheriff's Office.
As of 12:30 p.m., Sheriff's Office officials said the only train crossing affected by the crash was Finley Road crossing that is located south of Crescent Boulevard.
At press time, no additional information was available regarding the identity of the deceased person. The DuPage County County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
