GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL — The opening night of the Glendale Heights Fest has been canceled due to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and flooding in the area. The highly anticipated annual celebration was set to open Wednesday night, but officials decided to push back the opening night to Thursday, July 13, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. if weather permits.

Originally set to span five days with carnival rides, live music and fireworks, the Glendale Heights Fest will now be cut short by a day. Opening night was slated to include a fireworks display, which has now been pushed back to Thursday at dusk.
