Village Council to Vote on High-End Homes in Glen Oaks Subdivision

Twelve homes are proposed for the subdivision. Prices for the homes would range from $800,000 to $1 million.

GLEN ELLYN, IL - The village council is expected to vote in coming weeks on the addition of 12 high-end homes to the Enclaves of Glen Oaks subdivision as trustees expressed support Monday for an updated plan for the development project, the Daily Herald reports.

The homes would be built on 4.5 acres in the subdivision, which is located north of Country Club Road between Whittier Avenue and Cumnor Avenue in unincorporated DuPage County. The homes would have 3,000 square feet in space and costs would range from $800,000 to $1 million, Nate Wynsma, a consultant with William Ryan Homes, told commissioners during a Jan. 28 plan commission.

A revised plan includes a new entrance off Fairway Avenue and is meant to alleviates stormwater issues in the neighborhood, according to the Daily Herald. Village staff said the subdivision will be better integrated into the surrounding neighborhood with the access now off of Fairway, according to village council packet.

The village will need to approve an annexation agreement before the developer could move forward with the project as well as several variations from the Glen Ellyn zoning and regulations code.

The village council is tentatively scheduled to vote on the project during a March 14 meeting. The annexation agreement would require a 2/3 vote or four votes from village trustees.
