Village to Unveil Hawthorne Avenue Engineering Studies

The Village of Glen Ellyn will discuss the Hawthorne Avenue improvements project at tonight's meeting and officials are urging residents to come voice their opinions.

Village officials will unveil the preliminary engineering studies and designs that center around widening the road and adding a new sidewalk. 

Since the proposed changes to Hawthorne Avenue -- particularly the widening of the road -- many residents living near Hawthorne Avenue have been to the idea of expanding the roadway from 21 to 25 feet. Residents feel the wider roadway will result in faster traffic and a less attractive street. 

Tonight's meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Glen Ellyn Civic Center.
