Volunteer Opportunities This Holiday Season in Glen Ellyn Area

Tis the season for giving back to your community.

Here is a look at some local volunteer opportunities:

The DuPage Convalescent Center, 400 N. County Farm Road, provides long term care as well as short term rehabilitative services to DuPage County residents in a professional and cost effective manner. The convalescent center has several volunteer opportunities this holiday season, including:

• Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mass
• Sacred Christmas Concert
• Holiday Buffet
• Resident and Family Holiday Party
• Christmas Eve Service
• Christmas Day Mass
• Serve Christmas Day Meal
• Holiday Gathering
• New Year’s Eve Party
• New Year’s Day Party
• New Year’s Day Mass

B. R. Ryall YMCA of Northwestern DuPage County in Glen Ellyn is looking for volunteers to assist at its Christmas tree lot. The lot is open from November 28th - December 24. The hours are: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. thru 9 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information is available online. 

Tri-Town YMCA in Lombard is also looking for volunteers at its Christmas tree lot. Shifts are available 6 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 12 to 3 p.m., and 3 to 6 p.m. on weekends. More information is available online.

Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit store in Glen Ellyn, is looking for volunteers this holiday season. Volunteers are tasked with greeting and interacting with customers, unpacking and checking orders, assisting with displays and operating the cash register. More information is available online.
