VTG Auditions for "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change"

The Village Theatre Guild, 2S720 Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL has announced open auditions for “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” by Joe DiPietro & Jimmy Roberts. This enduringly popular musical will run weekends from Oct. 16 through Nov. 8.

Auditions will be held at the theatre with a choice of two dates: 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 12, or 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, July 16. Callbacks, if needed, will be 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 18. For those cast, a read-through is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 19. Auditions are “open call”, no appointment necessary.

Director Judy DiVita and musical director Jim Stahulak will be looking for four men and four women (20s through 60s) to play various characters in vignettes. “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” addresses everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit. It is Off Broadway’s second-longest running musical.

Auditioners should prepare one minute of a musical-theatre song and bring sheet music in their key. They should also be prepared to demonstrate vocal range and read from the script. This is a non-equity, non-paid production.
